Calling on Lawmakers to Stop A21

Why Many Conservative People Can’t see What’s Wrong

A good number of them have been brainwashed by academic gobbledygook similar to the scene in Back to School starring Rodney Dangerfield. Dangerfield’s character is sitting in a business class where the professor is setting up a fictional company that makes widgets. Dangerfield, a prosperous businessman, asks, “What’s a Widget?” The exchange between Dangerfield and the professor is priceless. You can read it here (start with “There are two kinds of people in business today…”) and see it here. Notice the response of the students. Being book-smart does not make a person wise.

Congressman Ron Paul, Texas, has introduced H.R. 1146, The American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2001. H.R. 1146 would get the United States completely out of the United Nations.

We, the Citizens of the United States of America, do hereby declare that we support H.R. 1146, and we declare that we accept no other authority on earth but the Constitution of the United States of America and it's Amendments.

The TRAIN ACT passes the House and head to the Senate

TRAIN Act vs. Clean Air Act
Enlarge picture
The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Transparency in Regulatory Analysis of Impacts on the Nation (TRAIN) Act of 2011(H.R. 2401) on Friday (September 23rd), which would strongly affect the EPA’s Clean Air Act.

Recently, President Obama pulled back the EPA's stronger standard for ozone, angering environmental groups, who are now urging the Obama Administration to oppose the TRAIN Act and not repeat that ‘mistake’.

"If the President is presented with H.R. 2401, his senior advisors would recommend that he veto the bill," the White House said.

"The Administration strongly opposes H.R. 2401, which would block two landmark public health regulations under the Clean Air Act and require the preparation of costly, unnecessary, and redundant reports," the OMB stated.

Washington Times Op-Ed: EPA regulations violate constitutional rights

Out-of-control agency turns everyday life into a federal crime

Since its creation in 1970, the Environmental Protection Agency has done more harm than good. EPA regulations cost more than 5 percent of our annual gross domestic product - the equivalent of the costs of defense and homeland security combined. Since EPA regulations have expanded, unemployment in America has increased by 33 percent. This abuse of power by the implementation of regulations infringes upon our basic constitutional rights.

There have been too frequent reports of individual rights being violated by abusive and power-hungry EPA bureaucrats. These regulations have hampered landowners' ability to manage their private property as they please and have impaired job creation. Americans are suffering from the overreach of regulatory agencies such as the EPA.

Call to fire Obama's Job Czar

Liberal Dem calls for resignation of White House jobs czar

By Mike Lillis - 08/24/11 05:18 PM ET

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) on Wednesday urged the White House to fire Jeffrey Immelt as jobs czar if the General Electric CEO doesn't step down.

Kucinich said GE's business practices — including aggressive efforts to minimize corporate taxes and a recent deal with China that critics say could undermine U.S. jobs over time — make Immelt unfit to counsel the president on job-creation strategies.

"Jeffrey Immelt has a conflict of interest," Kucinich said in a statement. "He cannot ethically advise the president on how to create American jobs and promote American competitiveness, while at the same time leading a company that is exporting American technology and, along with it, American jobs."

GOP bills would block new monuments on public land

By MATTHEW DALY

Associated Press

WASHINGTON —

Presidents from Theodore Roosevelt to George W. Bush have designated public land as national monuments, using a federal law to protect from development sites judged to have natural, historical or scientific significance.

Now some House Republicans, saying the 105-year-old law has been misused, have introduced bills to limit or block the president's ability to make such designations without approval from Congress.

GOP Rep. Denny Rehberg of Montana compared the 1906 Antiquities Act to the mythical sword of Damocles, calling it a weapon that can be used against rural communities at any time without warning.
